It's been a while...

Today marks the first official day of my Spring Break!! Hallelujah! TGISB! Anyways, I am sitting here at 10:00am waiting on Beckham to wake up because today also marks the first official day of potty training! EEEKK! Yall, say a prayer for us. We are trying the Naked 3- I read about it here. So it will be three days of Beckham running around naked. I'm really hoping this works and I know it's all about consistency and MY attitude towards training. Just pray.

Anyways, so here's a bit of an update on the last four months. -I know it's been four months because my last post was about the day my BFF's baby, Keely was born.- Yes, the title is appropriate. It's been a while...

Let's see- Butch lost his job. :( anddddd we moved! Yep, that's about it. HA!

No seriously, the school year is almost over. I'm potty training Beckham with makes me happy and sad at the same time. I can't believe he is old enough to potty train and yet, he is. And HE needs to be potty trained...

Okay, I feel like I am rambling and not making much sense at all. It must be the two Zeals I drank this morning at 8:00am when I woke up. Yes, it is now 10:15am and Beckham is still asleep.

On a more serious note. I really have a prayer request with everything going on with our lives. We are in a tough patch right now and just need prayers. Buying a house and looking for a job at the same time is both very exciting, confusing, and stressful and we just need prayers to lift all of us out of this funk and onto the other side of what feels like a mountain.

And here's my perfect child:

Easter 2014

Written Sunday, April 20th
This weekend has been so fun! With the exception of Butch being out of town working, it has been perfect. We have really missed him because now that he is working at home (most of the time) we've really gotten used to him being home- so it really sucks when he has to leave us. He especially hates it during any holiday. Beckham is growing up and becoming so independent, the holidays are becoming more and more fun!

On Good Friday we went to an EGGstravaganza at Beckham's BFF, Jake's house. It was so fun! We had a little lunch, dyed Easter eggs with Koolaid and then the kids hunted for eggs. They all had a blast. Even though Beckham is an only child, and the first grandchild on both sides of the family, he still plays really well with others, which I am so thankful for!

Saturday morning, Yaya, my Mom, came to spend the holiday weekend with us. She is off tomorrow (Monday) and I have to work so she is keeping Beckham. She also wanted to come hang out with us and participate in the Easter festivities. She actually pulled up as Beckham and I were working in the flower beds. I am trying to improve my grey thumb, but that's another post in itself! Saturday afternoon, we all went down to Grami's to dye Easter eggs and just visit. We ended up letting Beckham do the Koolaid eggs and shaving cream eggs (again this year link from last year). Like I said, he is so independent so naturally he wanted to do it all by himself; which consisted of him sitting on the picnic table and literally throwing eggs into the cups. It was hilarious and we all ended up pretty orange/red tinted, but the memories made are priceless! I had already planned to make a little chick footprint for Easter to give to Grami and Yaya but I didn't have a chance before so we ended up making them together Saturday night. They turned out so cute! Saturday was jam packed with fun Easter festivities. I am blessed in so many ways. 1) Beckham...of course, but 2) my Mom and Mother-in-Law get along so well! I mean I have a great mother-in-law but I am glad we can make these memories together with Beckham.

Saturday night was not the best for sleep. Beckham woke up around 1:00am crying and screaming about a big cat. It was weird. I am guessing he has a nightmare. So, I put him in the bed with my Mom and I. Unfortunately, my Mom snores like a grizzly bear so Beckham kept waking up. He finally said, "Yaya snore.....loud!". So, we got on the couch. We both pretty much tossed and turned most of the night and got littler sleep, so he did sleep in a little Sunday morning. Once he woke up and saw that the Easter bunny had left him a basket and hid eggs in the yard he was wide awake. We went through his basket and scoured the yard for eggs, which was so fun because he was really hunting for them!

Then, we all got dressed to go eat lunch at Grami's house. Beckham is such a spoiled good boy that the Easter bunny came to Grami's house too! So, again with the egg hunt. I'm guessing that since this was his third time hunting eggs he was a little over it, plus it felt like 100 degrees outside so we didn't stay out long. After a wonderful lunch, Mom and Beckham took a nap and I finished The Maze Runner (which was so good but had such a cliffhanger...ughh). We spent most of today just eating, and playing with Beckham. It was, with the exception of Butch being gone, a perfect weekend. If only I was off tomorrow it would be realllllly perfect! :D

With all of the superficial Easter festivities of the weekend I still have to reflect on the real reason for the season. He is risen! I am so thankful to believe in a God that loves me more than I deserve, who has plans for me better than I can dream, and sent his son as a sacrifice so I could live. I am so blessed beyond my wildest imagination! I thank God everyday for this beautiful life.

Where did April go?

Seriously, where did the month of April go? I'm going to try to summarize our month...
Beckham had his first Easter pictures with baby lambs!! It was so cute and he actually liked them! They were a little more scared of him than the other way around! Anyways I thought the lambs would be something different and I was so pleased with the pics! He's so stinkin cute with his one little tooth! Mary (with Creative Imaging) even had me get in one shot, which turned out to be my first professional picture with my baby-so it doesn't really matter than I'm so not dressed for pics- oh well! I keep begging Butch to do some family pictures but he's not real into it so, we'll see!

I was so pleased with Beckham's Easter basket!! I ordered the basket from etsy and fund the other things at various places. His basket has eggs & cute bunnies on each side of his name, that you can't see and was filled with the following: a floaty thing for the pool this summer, LSU bottles, a nuk sippy cup, blue peeps, easter bunny sock monkey, my first easter chick stuffed animal, cotton candy, baseball toy & Noah's ark plastic eggs! I was/am so in love with it! The basket isn't too baby-ish and is multicolored so it'll go with any outfit and he can use it for years to come, at least that's the argument I told myself for paying $55 for it.
Over Spring break my sweet boy & wonderful hubby played nurse & took care of me while I was recovering from having all 4 wisdom teeth pulled. It was not fun but thank God my Mom came or a few days and helped with Beckham so I literally slept about 48 hours straight!
Grami and Pop got Beckham bunnies for Easter- they don't have names yet. We've considered Pete & Repete or Pootie head & Looski (those are Beckham's crazy nicknames) but nothing has stuck!
You can't really see his Easter outfit but this is the only picture I have on my phone & my laptop decided to die on me. Boo! Easter brought the usual cold snap & horrible weather so, it was cold & rainy all day. But, Beckham really didn't care about hunting eggs anyways, so it turned out fine!

We finished off the month of April by visiting Yaya and Grumpy!! They remodeled their house & it's finally done, or livable lol it looks awesome & will be amazing when it's completed!
Sweet boy napping at Yaya's and eating Swiss cake rolls-which he LOVED btw!

So, our April was pretty awesome. We stayed busy, obviously, because it came & went in the blink of an eye! I am trying HARD to savor these precious moments with Beckham but it is so hard! It seems like he is growing at warp speed & I am missing everything!!!!! Side note- he I'd trying HARD TO WALK, yes at 9 months! Ugh!!! Hell on wheels! I am so lucky to be his Mommy!

Shaving Cream Eggs

I saw this on Pinterest and thought it would be a fun way to dye Easter eggs this year. Plus, my Mom also said it was 'a great sensory activity'. So, we attempted the shaving cream eggs! It was so fun and they actually turned out pretty cute!

You basically just put down a sheet of wax paper, squirt about a palm full of shaving cream (we used the cheap stuff), put a couple of drops of food coloring on top of the shaving cream, swirled it around with a toothpick & then rolled the eggs in the cream. It was realllllllly messy but so fun & Beckham loved it! Well, he actually didn't know what to think about it but I'm pretty sure he was loving it! ;) Grami is in the below pics & I played photographer-as usual!

We let the eggs dry for about 15 minutes and just wiped off the excess with a paper towel. For some reason I forgot to take an after picture but they pretty much looked like the above picture just a little bit lighter. Of course Beckham was covered in red dye for a day or so but it completely came out of his clothes- I was shocked!!

Anyways, we are definitely going to do this again next year! We also dyed some with vinegar and all that but this was a fun alternative to the tradition! Happy Easter!!
