Blogger fail...

As mentioned in previous posts my computer has some type of virus. I don't really know but I'm seriously slacking in the blogging department so I have spent the past 3 hours getting caught up using my iPad! But, now that I've found the blogger app I'm hoping I'll do better! Anyways....

Today is our last Friday of this school year! Ahhh!!! I just can't believe I've finished my first year of teaching! It's crazy!! Also, we had some great news today- ALL of the 8th graders passed the LEAP! Hallelujah, praise Jesus! I was/am so happy! So, technically the kids have 4 days of school left & I have 5! And I'm going to a PAID workshop in June that's only 4 days total & I get a free retina display iPad, case & keyboard! Yep, great things happening around here!! I am super excited about the next school year but I can't wait to spend this Summer with my sweet baby boy & wonderful husband! I have some fun projects for Beckham and I to do thanks to Pinterest, plus I have already started planning his first Birthday party!

Yes, in just 57 days (hubby informed me tonight of the count) our baby will be 1 year old. Ugh it makes me so sad to think about him already being a year! My gosh where has the time gone? People really don't lie when they say it flies by. Anyways I plan on thoroughly enjoying the next 57 days while my baby is still less than a year old!

Here's a photo dump of our life lately!
OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT BECKHAM IS WALKING! Yes, at just 9 months old he started walking! It was the craziest thing, he'd take a few steps here and there but the night before Butch came home from Alaska he really started walking, and thank goodness I was face-timing with him so he got to see it all as it was happening! So, yeah it's official, Beckham is seriously trying to to grow up way too fast. I mean come on, crawling at 4 months, walking at 9; he's trying to kill me!
His first bobo. A big old goose egg because he thinks he's grown & can do grown-up things, like jump off the bed.....yeah, long story.
Walking
Climbing
Swimming
Eating dirt
Being sweet! (5/17/13 10 mo old)

blessed

I'm trying hard to update this...per, my New Years resolution so here's a little of what's been going on around our house...

Daddy came home from work Feb 1st... I LOVE when he's home. Words can't explain how much I miss him when he's gone. I'm sure more than he knows and I've been thinking lately I should really try to express these feelings to him more often. We celebrated (kind of) our first Anniversary!! I say kind of because Butch was working in Alaska but either way, we made it a year!! And my sweet Mother-in-law got a card for us from Beckham. I didn't find it until the next day but it was so thoughtful of her. This year has FLOWN by! I guess because we have Beckham and all but I love our little family so much and can't wait to see what the future holds for us!

School has been great I love my job sooooo much!! I am so blessed in so many ways and I should also try to acknowledge them more often. My students are awesome, with the occasional crazy every now and then, but hey, it is eighth grade. So it's normal to have some crazies. :) I love them anyways!

We are kind of on the look out for our 'forever home' as I call it. Whether it be some land to build, or something we find along the way. I'm not real sure; I just know I am ready to get in our house we plan to be in forever. We have a prospect but it's too early to even talk about...but I shall update asap because I'm super excited about it!

Beckham.... oh my sweet Beckham. He is a handful and a half but in a total good way. He is seriously the best baby/7 month old in the world. (WOW! 7 MONTHS OLD!!!) And I know people always say they have the best babies in the world but, let me just brag for a bit. He sleeps ALL night long. It doesn't matter if he goes to bed at 8, 9 or 10. He will sleep a good 10-12 hours every single night. All we have to do is put him in his bed, start the mobile and bam! he's out for the night!! He LOVES taking a bath, putting clothes on....not so much! But nonetheless, he is perfect! He is crawling everywhere imaginable, and quickly. He is pulling up on anything and everything he can get his tiny little hands on, including the coffee table, couch, dish washer, stove, tv, wall....etc. He also loves to scratch  or pet things right now including the wall, carpet etc. I'm guessing he likes to feel the different textures. He still loves Micky Mouse Clubhouse. If he hears Micky talking, his eyes are peeled at the TV and glued until the show is over. It's funny! We are still feeding him stage 2 baby food twice a day and right now he likes vegetables better than fruit. I try to do fruit in the mornings and vegetables at lunch but he usually doesn't like the fruit and will eat an entire jaw of vegetables at lunch, in between bottles all day too. My sweet little boy, who will not be so little very soon, is seriously the light of my life. I honestly don't even know what I did before him. Sometimes I just sit and watch him play. I can see his mind figuring things out, like how to crawl completely over the nap nanny to get to whatever is on the other side that he wants. I see his eyes light up when he looks at Butch and I; and the way he laughs out at the most random times, I SO wish I could see what he was thinking. Anyways, I bragged more than a bit. But, he is just that special and perfect. He is the happiest, sweetest baby I have ever been around, and not just because he is mine, although I'm sure that has a little something to do with it.

This past week was Butch's first time watching Beckham all day and he did great!! I wrote out a full sheet of paper of his exact schedule; not that I thought he couldn't handle it but I just wanted to leave a reference sheet if Butch needed it. He said they had the best time and I am so happy Butch has found the confidence to keep him because I know Beckham loves spending time with his Daddy!

All in all, I have a pretty great life and I don't say how thankful I am near enough. Maybe that should have been one of my New Year's resolutions. Or maybe I'll just start today and try my best to let everyone in my life know just how special they are to me. I don't have any room to complain, because my life is filled with blessings and it's all because of Beckham.

 naked all day with Daddy!

January 2013

So, we all survived December 21st obviously! :)

I'm trying to get caught up with this blog but forgive me for the lack of pictures....thank you Blogger. I'll try to update them if it starts to let me post photos.

Beckham's New Year was so fun! We ate black eyed peas and cabbage of course! He didn't. lol I ate enough for him..haha!

Butch was home for the 1st and we popped fireworks with Uncle B, watched the countdown and just had a chill night.

Back to school this past Monday after a fabulous two week break and hubby left back for Alaska last Wednesday :( I'm sure it will be a quick hitch since Beckham is CRAWLING!! OMG! YES! 8 days shy of turning 6 months old and my brilliant baby boy started crawling! We knew it was coming because he was getting so close. He was seriously doing head stands. Then, one day it just happened. And he has not stopped since. He is officially mobile and into everything! Tonight we were at Grami's house and he crawled up onto her fireplace mantle, and was pulling and letting go of the fireplace broom making it hit the post it was sitting on....all in about 3 seconds of looking away. This kid is crazy! It's like he knows what he's NOT supposed to get into, so naturally, that's all he wants to get into!! Typical. I'm sure. He is actually trying to climb and pull up onto things already too. It won't be long before he figures out how to walk. He is just so determined!

Also today we started stage 2 baby food! He's been loving all of the single fruits and veggies and we've been mixing them a little, as well as adding cereal sometimes. But, today he had chicken noodle and LOVED it! Such a big boy!

Anyways, Beckham's 6 month Dr. visit is next Thursday and I'm eager to see how much he weighs now. I know he's gained at least 3 or 4 lbs. But he's so active he only gained 1 lb from 3-4 months and we didn't have to go at 5 months so I'm anxious to see how much he has grown.

I don't usually do resolutions, but I figured, now that we have Beckham I needed to try to do something (especially lose this weight)!!

My New Year's Resolutions are:
1) No more regular Coke....day 12 going strong
2) (starting today) Update this blog at least twice a month!
3) Lose the baby weight by Beckham's 1st Birthday

Recap of October

So.... October was an incredible month!! I previously wrote I would be starting October 12th... but I ended up starting October 1st! So far it has truly been a dream! I love it so much!! I actually can't wait to get up and go to work everyday! It has been so fun getting my room decorated and all of my stuff organized. Apart from having to leave my baby boy, this job has really been amazing. Although I HATE leaving him in the mornings, I know I am so lucky to have great family to keep him everyday! Thank God I don't have to deal with Daycare! The best part is when my Mother-in-law keeps him I usually just stay at her house so I never have to wake Beckham up in the mornings. It is GREAT!

I have been quite busy (which explains the lack of posts lately) and to be honest- the month of October literally FLEW by. So here's a recap and photo dump...if you will.

Sad day :(

So every three weeks my wonderful husband goes to work in Alaska. It is so hard to watch him walk into the Airport, but even harder now that we have Beckham. I can't even imagine how difficult it is for him to leave us. I'm sad to see him go but, I am still home with friends, family and our child. He is in Alaska alone. His Dad works for the same company but in completely different areas and they seldom see each other. So, he is practically all by himself. He is always silent on the way to the airport and usually calls me as soon as he walks through Security. But, this time was different. It was silent in the car (as usual) but, there was definitely a tense feeling in the air. I rode in the back with Beckham so he could see one of us because he's rear facing- and he gets to stare at the back of a seat for an hour long trip (one way!). Sounds like fun to me, right? And people wonder why kids scream the whole time they're in a car seat, ugh. I don't like the whole rear facing BS- if you couldn't tell.

Anyways, Butch works 3 weeks 23 days in Alaska, and is home for 3 weeks 19 days. We really adjusted to this lifestyle pretty well but, then came along little 'bunkin' (as Butch calls him! haha) and things have definitely changed. I try to reassure him that he is the best Father and Husband for working away like he does. Any guy can sit at home and scratch a broke behind but, for him to leave everything in order to provide [for us] takes a real MAN. And I am SO thankful to have him in my (our) life. He is truly my best friend and the best Daddy in the world! But the days he has to leave are still hard (for all of us).

Change of pace! My girlfriends and I are going out this weekend! Just dinner and a late movie. But, Beckham is staying with Grammy. I have mixed emotions. I'm super excited to have some girl time- we never get to see each other! But, I also feel a bit sad that I won't be waking up to Beckham Sunday morning. Good thing Grammy lives about 100 yards away! :)
