Goodbye Summer

I started the list here and then updated it here and the last update was the end of July, here. Summer is slowly but surely coming to a close. The lows are around 60 with highs still around 90, but tomorrow is October 1st so I figured it was officially time to say goodbye to Summer 2013. :( It was a good one!  *things we've done since last update...

Summer To Do List:
Go swimming
Go to the park*
While on our Little River trip we went to the park. I talked about it here. Beckham loved the slide, but some bigger kids came and he wanted to play with them but they didn't really know what to do with him, so we ended up cutting our park time short.
Eat ice cream
Build a pillow (and blanket) fort
Visit family
Go to Yaya and Grumpy's
Paint with pudding*
Beckham's new favorite thing is Go-Gurt. So, technically we didn't paint with pudding but he is pretty obsessed with letting the Go-Gurt fall on his tray and spreading it all around. Does that count?
Bake cookies*
We actually made three different types of cookies (peanut butter, chocolate chip & Nutella cookies) this summer, three different times and I did not get a picture any of those times. fail...... I let him smoosh the dough with his hands..he loved it!
Read LOTS of books
Go for walks
Lay in the grass
Play in sprinklers
Eat sno-cones
Go to the lake
Take lots of pictures
Put those pictures into an album**
I'm starring this although it hasn't actually happened yet. I did give out all of Beckham's 1 year old pictures to friends and family, and I have ordered copies of a ton of pictures I have on my phone and I already bought an album, so I'm prematurely saying that I've already done this because it. will. happen. :)
Play in the mud*
Mud/dirt/water/bugs are Beckham's BFFs. He loves getting dirty. It didn't rain for like 3 months straight so he just recently played in the actual 'mud' and of course I didn't get a pic. Just trust me. I'll be sure to snap one in the near future. I did however have this picture from him playing in the water sprinkler.

Eat s'mores
Build a fire
Watch the sunset
Stay up late
Wake up early
Go to a Gymboree class
Go shopping
See a baseball game
Go fishing
Write with sidewalk chalk
Finger paint
Eat Popsicles
Take a trip
Ride in a boat
Have 1 year old pictures made

We didn't get everything done on the list but we had an awesome Summer. Life is so much better with Beckham. I honestly do not know what I did before him. Each day with that little boy is so special. He has a smile that can light up a room, a laugh that will force a smile from anyone, and the sweetest, gentlest soul. He is truly my greatest accomplishment. I am so lucky to be his Mama.

high five for Summer

I started the list here and then updated it here. Summer is still letting its presence be know here in Louisiana, but I actually start back working Thursday after next and only about two weeks total left of summer break before school starts back up in full force. So, I thought it was a good time to update the list. *things we've done since last update...

Summer To Do List:
Go swimming
Go to the park
Eat ice cream
Build a pillow (and blanket) fort
Visit family
Go to Yaya and Grumpy's *
We visited Mom's over the fourth- I talked about it here.
Paint with pudding
Bake cookies
Read LOTS of books *
We are part of a Summer Book exchange- you basically buy one book and end up getting 20+ in return. You follow directions from a printout. I'll explain later, but we've received about 6 so far and it has been so fun to check the mail everyday! Beckham also got some awesome books for his birthday!
Go for walks
Lay in the grass *

Play in sprinklers
Eat sno-cones
Go to the lake *
Mom lives on the lake, so check that one off! But, I'm sure we'll go back before Summer is over.
Take lots of pictures *
Umm, yeah! check, check, and check!

Put those pictures into an album
Play in the mud
Eat s'mores
Build a fire*
Prior to the party we worked really hard cleaning up the yard- including burning some leaves, this wasn't exactly the kind of fire I was planning but it's too dang hot to sit around a fire and eat smores so I'm marking that one off! Much more of a winter activity!
Watch the sunset
Stay up late
Wake up early
Go to a Gymboree class
Go shopping *
See a baseball game
Go fishing
Write with sidewalk chalk
Finger paint
Eat Popsicles *

Take a trip *
Ride in a boat
Have 1 year old pictures made

First day of Summer

Written 6/22/13
Yesterday was the official first day of Summer so I thought it was time for an update on our To Do List. I talked about some different things I wanted to do with Beckham this Summer in this post so here's what we've been doing. We have gone swimming, a lot; which I knew we would because Grami has a pool. He ate one of those little chocolate dipped ice cream cones and LOVED it. He made a huge mess because he started at the cone, but it was still precious. I bought this little sprinkler mainly because it was Mickey Mouse, and only $8.00 and when I got it, it definitely reflected the price because it is somewhat cheap looking. I guess you get what you pay for, but it's still functional and Beckham liked it okay. He didn't really know what to do with it because it spins pretty fast and shoots water up really high. Anyways, long story short, we played in the sprinklers. We have also had sno-cones quite a few times. Beckham's favorite is green apple, I have no idea why but he loves it. He wasn't crazy about bubblegum, which I thought was weird because most kids love anything bubblegum. My all time favorite sno-cone flavor is wedding cake....I get it from my Mama. Haha! With Daddy being home Beckham and I both tend to stay up a little later than usual. But, last week Beckham was just not ready for bed, one night he stayed up until 11:30. I was like, really, it's time for bed child. It also just so happens that this morning he woke up at 3:00a kind of coughing/choking. It was scary. He had a hard time getting back to sleep but finally went back down around 5:00a. It has been a long day already. We have plans in the works to go see Yaya and Grumpy over the Fourth of July, they live on the lake, and have a boat. So, hopefully we will get a few more things marked off. I have already taken a lot of pictures, but I'm not marking that one off yet, and we've technically already watched a baseball game (on TV) but that's cheating so I'm not marking that one off yet either. I already talked about getting Beckham's 1 year old pictures made and here are some very low resolution proofs.

In hindsight I wish I would have asked the lady that made the cake not to use red around the edges. Naturally, Beckham grabbed the red icing first and it kind of reminds me of a vampire.  But, they are still cute.

Sweet Summertime

Well I am officially out for Summer break! It is somewhat bittersweet to know that I won't have my same classes ever again. I love(d) my students and hate to see them leave (most of them :)) but I guess it's something I'm going to have to get used to because it will in fact, happen every year from now on. But, I'll never forget my 1st class of 8th graders!

Anyways- on to Summer plans.... First and foremost I am planning the ULTIMATE Mickey Mouse Clubhouse 1st Birthday party everrrrr for Beckham!! I am so excited!! Here are some other random things I want to do with Beckham this Summer---->

Summer To Do List:
Throw the best first birthday imaginable....duh!
Go swimming
Go to the park
Eat ice cream
Build a pillow (and blanket) fort

Go to Yaya and Grumpy's

Last but not least I'd like to make lifelong memories with Beckham this summer and every summer to come from now on. I want to soak up every last second with him because he is growing up so fast!

Seriously, today I put him the pool with his floaty for the first time and he loved it.....as long as I was nowhere near him! If I got close to him, like I was trying to help, then he would scream and whine but if I backed away from him he would laugh and splash! It makes me sad. He wants to be grown up already. He's already practically running everywhere he goes and climbing things like I never would have imagined! I mean, how does a 10 month old know to hike there leg up and pull to get on top of things, or how to climb stairs??? My mind is blown on a daily basis by this child.. He is so smart and sweet and almost every time I ask him to give me a kiss, he does! Even if he just got in trouble & is mad at me! It's so cute- big ole sloppy kiss! And I wouldn't have it any other way!

Bring on the photo dump...
Running....see, I told you.
Proof
Playing wack a mole
Ready to go!

I have so much planned for this Summer I can't wait. We are missing Daddy but he'll be home in a week and a half...counting down the days!
