First Day of School 2013-14
Today was my first day back to school, with kids. I have ALL of our 7th and 8th grade students for English Language Arts- totaling 168 students. Yes. one hundred and sixty-eight....oy! So, it's 10:30pm, I'm exhausted and I'm going to bed. Here are the photo updates of my classroom. All I have left to add is my curtains that are soooo cute, and should be finished by the end of next week. Goodnight!

Classroom Update
Forgive me for the lack of a move it Monday, I have in no way been moving it. However, I am still watching what I eat and hopefully this week I can get some exercise in. We shall see.
Anyways, Monday I did get some major progress done in my room. Here's the last little update on my room. I am about 80% done. I still have a bunch to get laminated and can't do that until the Librarians come back on the 5th. So, that stuff will have to wait. But, I did get everything that I had done, put on the walls. And with the exception of my tables being leveled they are all set up how I want them. So here's an update.

Ok this is the BEFORE!! The teacher prior to me covered the boards in fabric, and while I think it's a pretty good idea, it was wrinkled and falling apart so when I came in October, I just put up a border and didn't mess with it. But, now that I am starting this year I wanted to change them. So I took down that awful fabric and covered them with paper. I liked the green, so I kept one green but changed the other to a bright yellow!! I love them. The Make Up board is where I put papers when students are absent or don't finish something. It's so easy to just tack it up there and whenever they come back they can find their paper, it seemed to work well last year. The No Name board is pretty much self explanatory. After I got home I thought I could split the No Name board and put I Can... where I can change out the weekly standards.
Here's the after!
I finished all of the cabinets! Just a little modpodge, scrapbook paper and paint!
Here's a view of the entire front of the room. I have a few things ordered to put on the front wall that should be here in August but for now it's pretty bare. And as I said above, the tables are not leveled. But, they are U shaped and where I want them.
This big board will have six incentive charts on the right side, but I have to get them laminated. Here are some close ups of everything. I am so in love with my Grammar Dots!
My desk area. I got my cork board and fish painting from Painting with a Twist hung up in my little area.
back of the class. I also have things to add to back wall. excuse the mess on the tables.
And lastly, here's the cutest poster I made at the teacher center for over my door. It was really hard to get a picture because of this fabulous bar that goes directly in front of it but anyways, use your imagination.
Two weeks until school starts I'll do one more final update when everything is DONE!

Blogger fail...
As mentioned in previous posts my computer has some type of virus. I don't really know but I'm seriously slacking in the blogging department so I have spent the past 3 hours getting caught up using my iPad! But, now that I've found the blogger app I'm hoping I'll do better! Anyways....
Today is our last Friday of this school year! Ahhh!!! I just can't believe I've finished my first year of teaching! It's crazy!! Also, we had some great news today- ALL of the 8th graders passed the LEAP! Hallelujah, praise Jesus! I was/am so happy! So, technically the kids have 4 days of school left & I have 5! And I'm going to a PAID workshop in June that's only 4 days total & I get a free retina display iPad, case & keyboard! Yep, great things happening around here!! I am super excited about the next school year but I can't wait to spend this Summer with my sweet baby boy & wonderful husband! I have some fun projects for Beckham and I to do thanks to Pinterest, plus I have already started planning his first Birthday party!
Yes, in just 57 days (hubby informed me tonight of the count) our baby will be 1 year old. Ugh it makes me so sad to think about him already being a year! My gosh where has the time gone? People really don't lie when they say it flies by. Anyways I plan on thoroughly enjoying the next 57 days while my baby is still less than a year old!
Here's a photo dump of our life lately!
OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT BECKHAM IS WALKING! Yes, at just 9 months old he started walking! It was the craziest thing, he'd take a few steps here and there but the night before Butch came home from Alaska he really started walking, and thank goodness I was face-timing with him so he got to see it all as it was happening! So, yeah it's official, Beckham is seriously trying to to grow up way too fast. I mean come on, crawling at 4 months, walking at 9; he's trying to kill me!

Recap of October
So.... October was an incredible month!! I previously wrote I would be starting October 12th... but I ended up starting October 1st! So far it has truly been a dream! I love it so much!! I actually can't wait to get up and go to work everyday! It has been so fun getting my room decorated and all of my stuff organized. Apart from having to leave my baby boy, this job has really been amazing. Although I HATE leaving him in the mornings, I know I am so lucky to have great family to keep him everyday! Thank God I don't have to deal with Daycare! The best part is when my Mother-in-law keeps him I usually just stay at her house so I never have to wake Beckham up in the mornings. It is GREAT!
I have been quite busy (which explains the lack of posts lately) and to be honest- the month of October literally FLEW by. So here's a recap and photo dump...if you will.
Started new (awesome) job! 8th grade English Teacher!
Daddy went back to work in Alaska....boo :(
3 month Doctor check up! Baby boy weighed 13 lbs 6 oz!
Beckham had Halloween pics! So cute! Can't wait until they come in!
Visited YaYa and Grumpy for the weekend
Beckham's first Halloween! Naturally we had a wardrobe change, he was a tiger and Superman!
I was Minnie Mouse at school and my class' pumpkins won the Carving Contest! Yep...only there for a month and they love me!
